Concept title, subtitle, and cover art. Yes, that’s a Chiavari chair; if you know, you know.
Write my second book with me.
You keep humanity afloat, nonprofiteers. And you probably don’t hear that enough.
After ~25 years in this industry, I'm writing a book about the people who stay. Why they do, what it costs them, and why (I believe) it’s worth it.
I want to write For Staying differently than most books—differently than my own first book, even. Out in the open, with you, long before it ever hits a shelf. Even then, I want most of it out in the wild.
I know, I know, that’s not much of a marketing strategy.
But I don't have all the answers. Neither do you. Together? We have a lot of answers and that's the whole point. That’s what will make this book different; that’s what will make it special.
So here's what I hope, none of which is (too) heavy:
Share your story about working (and staying) inside the social sector. Anonymously or outright, your call.
Pass my name along to someone whose story deserves to be told.
Point me to organizations and people doing remarkable things from the outside-in.
Tell me who should have a resource like this (university programs, agencies, anyone who needs it).
This is my love letter to the sector, written by the sector. I really hope you'll come along.
Big thanks, nonprofiteers,
Evan
